PHOTO - CHARTING

The photo-charting service enables you to have your own unique design made from a photo taken or from a small drawing. We can convert your favourite photograph into a cross-stitch or needlepoint (including tapestry) design. You can stitch it for your own enjoyment or you can offer the chart or stitched project as a gift. You can even take advantage of our Stitching Service.

There are 3 levels of photo charting service you can choose from:-

Basic, Standard and DeLuxe. All 3 services are without obligation to order the chart.

All you need to do is to send us your photo or drawing and a stamped addressed envelope. You will firstly get your photo back plus a coloured printed image (illustrated version of your design), showing some options of how your design could look like when finished, as a stitched project.

This way we make sure that we keep people happy not wasting their time stitching from a chart and design which in the end will not suit their taste. If you like one of the design options you then make your order and send your payment.

For those who have access to the Internet and Email, their design options will be sent via Email, in BMP or JPG format.

THE PHOTO CHARTING SERVICES (BASIC, STANDARD & DELUXE)

	Converting the image into cross-stitch or needlepoint (including tapestry).
	Matching colours to thread charts for one of the following: DMC, Anchor, or Madeira.
	A clear eligible chart in black and white symbols.
	A list of threads and their approximate usage.
	Instructions and advice;
	Packaging and postage free (UK only) and your photo back.
Standard Service - Cost £12, includes Basic Service plus: Resizing Cropping Reducing the number of colours
Deluxe Service - Cost £15, includes Standard Service plus:
	Editing;
	Selective removal and pasting
	Changing colours
	Enhancing your design by its size and colour.
	A coloured image giving you an idea of what your design should look like as a finished project.

Payment and Delivery:

Payment should be made by cheque or money order to Mariana Harding.

For customers living outside the UK, please send your image of your photo via email and we'll take it from there .

The current Delivery time for your chart is usually 7-14 days, but it may take longer for other countries.

Notes:

Choose the best photo for charting, where the subject is visible and clear.

The best size photo is up to 8"x10", but any size up to A4 will do, provided that you do not mind reducing the scale when scanning, and then cropping to produce a suitably sized chart.

Be aware that the chart you will receive will probably take you a while to complete unless you use the fabric itself instead of background stitching.However, we do our best to reduce the number of isolated stitches and generally to make the stitching job easier.

Charts will not contain any fractional stitches or backstitches, only full cross stitches or needlepoint.

Photocopies or posters are generally not accepted, as they are either not sharp enough or too large to scan in one piece. However, it will cost you very little (the postage), to find out if we will be able to do a chart from it.

Black and white photos will be acceptable in some cases depending on the clarity of the subject; we may be able to make them into a colour design, at an extra charge by arrangement.

We print the chart on A4 paper at 8, 9 or 10 squares per inch depending on how many colours and their distribution on design; for most charts this will mean the chart spans several A4 sheets.For designs with one of the sizes larger than 30 cm, an extra £1 will be charged for covering the chart printing expenses.
